Introduction

　　The Department of Stomatology at Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital is one of the earliest professional dental medical units established in Shenzhen. It has developed into a comprehensive oral medical center integrating clinical care, teaching, and research. The department is recognized as a Guangdong Provincial High-Level Clinical Key Specialty and a Shenzhen Key Specialty. It serves as the core unit of the Shenzhen Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases, a Ministry of Health Endoscopic Training and Assessment Base, and provides theoretical and clinical training for multiple institutions, including Shenzhen University. It is one of the first National Residency Training Bases for General Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Shenzhen.

　　The department is equipped with 45 multifunctional dental chairs and 30 inpatient beds, staffed by nearly 100 medical and nursing personnel. Among them are 7 chief physicians, 11 associate chief physicians, 13 PhD holders, and 13 master’s degree holders. Many staff members hold leadership positions in national and provincial professional societies, serving as standing committee members or vice chairs. The department is a Vice President Unit of the Shenzhen Stomatological Association and leads multiple professional committees. It also serves as the course coordinator for the Shenzhen University School of Dentistry.
